Online Therapy
Counselling and psychotherapy are traditionally offered in a confidential setting where you meet in person with your therapist and discuss face to face the issues you are facing. In today’s world this is not always possible or desirable, so meeting online is an excellent alternative to face to face therapy. As well as being more convenient, there is less time involved as you probably won’t need to travel anywhere, and you could have your sessions during your lunch hour at work (if you have private space), at home in your room, or in any private location that suits you.
With online therapy, we would be using video conferencing software such as Skype, FaceTime, Zoom, BOT IM or similar. It is important that the software used in confidential and encrypted. Your therapist will be contacting you from a private and confidential location, and it will be your responsibility the ensure that the place your receive your online therapy will be private, confidential, and you will not be disturbed. You will also need a good internet connection so we can see and hear each other clearly to get the most out of our session.
